Lecture 06 . Isabelle Huppert . Juergen Teller

12 March 2006

Passionate yet reserved, far away yet so close—Isabelle Huppert is unique among contemporary actresses. There is something mysterious about her. Isabelle Huppert can be anywhere and anything: the object of others’ projections and still an individual. Poised between self-control and impulsiveness, power and melancholia, she seems concealed, and at the same time, completely open.

Lecture 06 brought Isabelle Huppert closer. Talking with photographer Juergen Teller, who had done portraits of her, the French actress engaged in a discussion of her own myth. Both actress and photographer offered insights into the well-known reciprocal relationship between artist and muse.
