This first C/O Lecture deals with the rebuilding of the ‘Ground Zero’ area in New York. Various different interest groups are holding a wide-ranging discussion on the rebuilding of ‘Ground Zero’.

Suggestions vary from extensive memorials or a new business centre to a complete rethinking of the urban structure of Lower Manhattan. The way in which empty spaces in the urban landscape such as the Schlossplatz are treated in Berlin forms the basis for a discussion of the situation in New York.
