The Deutsche Börse is one of the most important patrons of contemporary photography. Since the year 1999, the Group has been building an extensive art collection of contemporary photography which, to date, includes around 700 works, most of them large-scale, by over 70 international artists. It is considered one of the most important collections of contemporary photography worldwide. The selection of over 100 photographs by 32 photographers in the current exhibition is being shown for the first time publicly by C/O Berlin. The exhibition was curated by Anne-Marie Beckmann, Deutsche Börse, and Felix Hoffmann, C/O Berlin.
Three large illustrated books on the collection have been published under the title “XL Photography” in cooperation with Hatje Cantz publishers. The active sponsorship of international photography exhibitions is an important component of the Deutsche Börse Group’s corporate responsibility activities. The Group provides ongoing support to international museums and institutions and assists them in their exhibition projects. Furthermore, the Deutsche Börse is the title sponsor of the annual Photography Prize of the Photographers’ Gallery in London. The Prize is one of the most important distinctions for contemporary photography worldwide. |
