Magnum° . Betrachtungen über die Welt

15 July to 15 September 2000

In approximately 400 images, 56 Magnum° photographers take stock of the world in the decade after the Berlin Wall fell. Their photographicessays display a very involved, personal examination of our society. At the same time, they demonstrate the wide variety within contemporarydocumentary photography. In the exhibition, organized by the photographyand press agency FOCUS and coordinated by C/O Berlin, the individualauthors’ subjective and involved viewings combine to create an astonishing kaleidoscope of our world at the turn of the millennium.

Photographs by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Martin Parr, by Josef Koudelkaand James Nachtwey, by Raymond Depardon and Martine Franck can alreadybe included in an inventory of our future cultural memory.
